The Alpine Formula 1 team has determined a strategy for the upcoming tests in Bahrain, where drivers will have the opportunity to test the cars for the 2025 season. The priority in these tests will be for the team's main drivers, the Frenchman Pierre Gasly and the Australian Jack Doohan.
The testing program will follow a rotation scheme, with Doohan being the first to head out onto the circuit on Wednesday morning, followed by Gasly in the afternoon. Thursday will be the opposite, starting with Gasly in the morning and Doohan in the afternoon. On Friday, the order will be the same as Wednesday, with Doohan opening and Gasly taking over in the afternoon.
These trials represent the only opportunity for the drivers to test the cars before the start of the season in Australia in mid-March. Franco Colapinto, an Argentine driver, made his Formula 1 debut last year with the Williams team, participating in nine Grand Prix and scoring points in Azerbaijan and the United States.
Despite not having a main seat at Williams for the 2025 season, due to the signings of Alexander Albon and Carlos Sainz Jr., Colapinto joined Alpine as a reserve driver, with the possibility of replacing Doohan if necessary. The Formula 1 tests in Bahrain will take place from February 26 to 28, divided into two daily sessions, from 4 to 8 in the morning and from 9 to 1 PM.
