Novak Djokovic (37 years old) responded to criticism after he was forced to withdraw from participating in the ATP Australian Open due to injury. He published a photo of a close-up shot, which showed the level of damage to his elbow.
"I continue to fight and recover," Djokovic wrote in his post, adding that he currently needs support and understanding.
The main trainer of Djokovic's team noted that no athlete wants to withdraw from a tournament at such a stage. "We need to understand that the player did everything possible to represent his country at the tournament," he emphasized.
Despite the criticism, Djokovic received enormous support from his fans and colleagues in the industry. "Novak, we know that you did everything possible. Take care of yourself and come back stronger," wrote one of the users under Djokovic's photo.
