Australia has designated Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as a terrorist organization, Foreign Minister Penny Wong announced on Thursday. This decision follows a review of intelligence that concluded the IRGC orchestrated antisemitic attacks in Australia. In August, Australia accused Iran of plotting two antisemitic incidents: an arson attack on a synagogue in Sydney and a Jewish community center in Melbourne. In response, Australian authorities gave the Iranian ambassador seven days to leave the country, marking the first such expulsion since World War II.
