Liam Lawson under Pressure After Disastrous F1 Debut

After his disastrous debut at the 2025 Australian Grand Prix, Liam Lawson is under immense pressure from Red Bull, which issued a warning. Patience at Red Bull with drivers is limited, as they have demonstrated over the years, and Liam Lawson already has a deadline to prove he deserves his seat.

The comparison with Checo Pérez is still up in the air; many experts believe the Mexican would have achieved better results. In fact, some media are already suggesting that Red Bull could reconsider Yuki Tsunoda or even seek another alternative. Time is running out for Liam Lawson; if he does not show progress in the upcoming races, his future at Red Bull could be at risk sooner than expected.

After his disappointing first race in Melbourne, the team made it clear that they will evaluate his performance between the third and fifth races of the season. The warning came from Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko, who confirmed that Lawson will be assessed between the Japanese GP and the Saudi Arabian GP; although they justified his poor performance in Australia by saying he had "never raced at Albert Park," the team's tolerance will be limited.

"We want to see his evolution in the first three or five races. It was a complicated weekend, but we cannot judge him based on a single race," Marko pointed out. If Lawson does not improve in the upcoming races, speculation about a change in the lineup will not be long in coming. The problem is that at Red Bull there is no margin for errors; unlike other teams, where drivers may have several races to adapt, the Milton Keynes team demands immediate results, especially when competing alongside a three-time champion like Max Verstappen.
