In the Australian Grand Prix, the Ferrari competitor managed to secure the first position in a day full of surprises. Oscar Piastri, on his part, initially positioned himself in second place, but in a last effort, he climbed to the top step, demonstrating a remarkable improvement after finishing tenth in previous sessions.
In contrast, Lewis Hamilton of Ferrari achieved eighth place in the standings, with a third place in practice 2 overshadowed by a tenth place in the last session. Max Verstappen enters qualifying with less than optimal performance despite having one of the fastest cars in the competition.
Hamilton settled for fifth place, falling behind Tsunoda. Meanwhile, Lando Norris of McLaren had an inconsistent performance in the practices leading up to the Australian GP, ending with a crash at turn 11 that left him out of competition due to a red flag. Meanwhile, George Russell of Mercedes experienced a significant improvement in his position, being surpassed by Alexander Albon of Williams Racing.
Oscar Piastri stood out by taking first place in Practice 3. The top ten positions recorded in the competition were occupied by different drivers from prominent teams such as McLaren, Mercedes, Red Bull, Ferrari, and Williams Racing. In the first category of single-seaters, Oliver Bearman of Haas was the first competitor to take to the track at the Albert Park Circuit, although his performance was diminished compared to his teammate Charles Leclerc, who had a standout performance in Practice 2, climbing to third place on the grid.
