
In the second practice of the Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix, Charles Leclerc, Ferrari driver, stood out as the fastest, outpacing the McLarens. Max Verstappen, with Red Bull, finished in seventh place. The race took place on the street circuit "Albert Park" in Melbourne. Leclerc recorded a time of 1m16s439 on the 5.278 kilometers, followed by Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris from McLaren in second and third place respectively. Yuki Tsunoda (Racing Bulls Honda) came in fourth, Lewis Hamilton (Ferrari) fifth, and Isack Hadjar (Racing Bulls) sixth.
Max Verstappen finished in seventh place, followed by Nico Hülkenberg (Sauber) in eighth, Lance Stroll (Aston Martin) in ninth, and George Russell (Mercedes) completing the top ten. In the first part of the competition, with medium tires, Carlos Sainz led with Williams, followed by his teammate Alex Albon. As the practice progressed, Leclerc took the lead.
When switching to soft tires halfway through the 60-minute session, Yuki Tsunoda ascended to first place, surpassing Leclerc. Then, Norris managed to overtake the Japanese driver and took the first position. Later, Leclerc reclaimed the lead, followed by Piastri and Norris. Hamilton was in fifth place at that point. Verstappen moved up to seventh place, behind Isack Hadjar but ahead of Nico Hülkenberg and Lance Stroll, with Russell in tenth. The Williams of Carlos Sainz and Alex Albon dropped to 11th and 12th.
Finally, Sergio Pérez's replacement at Red Bull, Liam Lawson, failed to make it into the top 10 in either practice, finishing in 17th position in the second session.
