In 2023, the Frenchman Pierre Gasly joined Alpine and finished in thirteenth place, while Esteban Ocon finished one place lower. Max Verstappen (Red Bull) took the victory, followed by Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) and Fernando Alonso (Aston Martin).

In 2024, Alpine had a modest performance in Melbourne. Gasly finished thirteenth again, and Ocon came in sixteenth place. The podium was dominated by Ferrari, with Carlos Sainz as the winner, followed by Leclerc and Lando Norris (McLaren).

This year, with a change in the driver duo formed by Gasly and Australian Jack Doohan, Alpine arrives in Australia with the intention of improving their results on a track where they have historically struggled.

The Australian Grand Prix will take place on Sunday, March 16, marking the start of a new year in Formula 1. Argentine Colapinto will be present as a reserve driver, waiting for an opportunity in the top category.

From 2018 to 2024, Alpine (formerly Renault) has had modest performances at the Australian GP. In 2018, Nico Hülkenberg scored points by finishing seventh, and Carlos Sainz Jr. finished tenth. In 2019, Hülkenberg again finished seventh, while Daniel Ricciardo could not complete the race.

The Australian Grand Prix marks the beginning of a new Formula 1 season, with the Albert Park Circuit in Melbourne as the venue for the first race of the year. The challenge for Alpine this year is to improve their performance and score points in a competition where they have struggled in the past.
