
Elections for the federal parliament have begun in Australia. More than 7 thousand electoral districts across the country opened for voting at 8 a.m. local time on Saturday. Polls will work until 6 p.m. in Western Australian time (10:00 a.m. Greenwich Mean Time), when the counting of votes will start.
The left-leaning Labor Party's Anthony Albanese is seeking victory in the second term, while the conservative opposition coalition, led by Peter Dutton, aims to regain its power, which it held previously.
