On Friday, Australia's Minister for Foreign Affairs, Marise Payne, expressed her concerns regarding exercises conducted by three Chinese warships in the waters of the eastern part of the country.
Payne noted that Australia is concerned about similar actions when exercises are conducted in international waters close to its shores. She emphasized the importance of adhering to international law and norms, as well as the necessity of ensuring maritime security and the freedom of navigation in the region.
"They (the exercises) are conducted in international waters, but close to Australia's shores, and this raises concerns," the minister noted.
