The Australian Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that Minister Richard Marles had a "very friendly" conversation with his American colleague Lloyd Austin.
"We discussed a wide range of issues regarding security and were united in our regard for the significance of our strategic partnership," Marles added.
He also noted that Australia fully supports the U.S. in their efforts to stabilize the Asia-Pacific region.
