Virginia Giuffre, known for accusing Jeffrey Epstein and Prince Andrew of Britain of sexual abuse during her adolescence, died by suicide, according to her family. The news shocked many and brought an end to a case that had generated significant controversy. Giuffre, 41, was found dead on her farm in Western Australia on Friday, April 26.

Giuffre's family issued a statement declaring that Virginia had been a victim of sexual abuse and sex trafficking throughout her life, and that this was the cause of her tragic outcome. The deceased had reached a settlement in a lawsuit against Epstein before his death in 2019, while Prince Andrew had also reached an undisclosed out-of-court settlement.

Virginia Giuffre stood out as one of the most prominent voices demanding justice against Epstein and his accomplices. Her testimony was crucial in the conviction of Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein's former girlfriend and accomplice. Giuffre sued Ghislaine for defamation in 2015, and her courage in bringing to light the truth about Epstein was recognized by many.

In a message addressed to Maxwell during her sentencing, Virginia Giuffre stated: "I want to make one thing clear. Jeffrey Epstein is a terrible pedophile, without a doubt; but I would never have met him if it weren't for you." Born in Sacramento, California, Giuffre became a key figure in the case that led to Maxwell's conviction and increased scrutiny of high-profile sexual abuses.
