The intensification of Cyclone "Mitchell" has led to the closure of key ports in Western Australia, while eight people were killed by Typhoon "Basyang" in the Philippines, and catastrophic damage caused by Storm "Marta" in Spain and Portugal is being assessed. The Bureau reported that "Mitchell" has developed into a cyclone.
