Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic (4th seed) achieved what seemed like an impossible victory over Italian Jannik Sinner (2nd seed) and advanced to the Australian Open final, where he will face Spain's Carlos Alcaraz (1st seed). At 38 years old, Djokovic continues to make history, winning 3-6, 6-3, 4-6, 6-4, 6-4 after 4 hours and 9 minutes of play. The Serb managed to pull off an incredible match in which he was almost always at a disadvantage, demonstrating an unbreakable mind to always find a way through. The turning point of the match came in the fifth set, where he took his only break point chance and saved all eight of his opponent's opportunities. After the victory, which ended his streak of five consecutive losses to Sinner, Djokovic confessed, "I honestly can't find the words. He's a great player and he pushed me to the limit. It seems incredible." He added, "It brings back memories of almost six hours in 2012 against Rafa (Nadal)." Regarding his impressive performance, he stated, "This was the only way I had to beat him, he had beaten me in the last five matches. He had my number and I had to change it." Finally, he highlighted, "I have to thank him (Sinner) and congratulate him."
