American tennis player Coco Gauff (3rd seed) had a moment of anger at the Australian Open, captured by security cameras as she broke one of her rackets after losing to Ukrainian Elina Svitolina (12th seed). In footage obtained by the Argentine News Agency, the American, a two-time Grand Slam winner (US Open 2023 and Roland Garros 2025), is seen walking through the Rod Laver Arena corridors and at one point stops to hit her racket several times against the floor. During her post-match press conference, Gauff did not regret what happened and explained that it helps her to 'vent my emotions'. She also added: 'I simply took the time to do it.'
